Tiffany Roberts, they have a gift with telling a story that absorbs the reader into a world that's so rich and all consuming. I felt like I was returning to a place I've visited before, which I did with book 1 and 2. But, it was more than that, they painted such a vivid picture in their previous books.
I really loved the characters in this one. MAYRA. Wow, she's been through so much and wow. I honestly felt for her character because of how well written she was. I also really enjoyed uncovering more of Gaelen. He was such a lonely soul and I loved seeing him with Mayra.
This book dealt with so, so, so much. Death, loss and pain for our main characters were regular occurrences and they needed each other so much. Their romance was a beauty to uncover.
The writing was sublime, like always with such great sentences that allowed for me to imagine the events like I was actually on the Isle.
Why is it losing a star? I felt that it was a bit slow at times. There were times where I felt like absolutely nothing was happening which was why it took me a bit longer to finish. Other than that, I'd say this was a solid read and I look forward to more of Tiffany Roberts' work!
