Very good, decently easy read
My lack of Shakespeare didn’t deter me from the book, I just skimmed the italicized parts for the most part.

the last line made me viscerally angry tbh. How you gonna imply that James isn’t dead and like on the run??? That kinda seems foolish to end with. But it was legit the last line so it doesn’t really matter tbh

As a theatre kid with a literature degree, this sure did Hit. I don't know what to say about this one that hasn't been said. It hits the mark with actors and acting classes, torture of academia, drama of a semi-forced family unit, Shakespearean magnitude. Using excerpts of Shakespeare as a literary device to set the tone and shape the story was impressively clever. The audio performance was magnificent.

I was enjoying everything as it was and then the final "twist" (kinda?) absolutely wrecked me. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending specifically, but the story as an overall piece of art is wonderful.

Every one in a while you pick up a book that leaks magic, this is one of those reads for me. The world building and imagery, the plot line and mystery filled with incredibly loveable, smart wonderful characters. This is a novel that will stay with me for a long time.
