I got this book from the author as a prize on Michael Mandrake's blog so I had no real preconceived ideas on plot.
I wasn't sure about the book at first - the first quarter seemed to move very fast covering Stephen and Myron's relationship. I found the writing style very choppy and didn't feel I knew Myron at all - then it became apparent why it was  written that way.
After that, the next half of the book really drew me in, when Stephen and Carson were dancing around each other and starting their relationship. The thrid person style didnt bother me as much as it had in the first section.
The last portion of the book as they moved forward was still intriguing but not as much as the middle section - I think because the conversations didn't ring as true as their earlier meetings.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and was glad that I read through the early chapters.
