Why is this series so addictive? I’m onto the second book now and I cannot stop reading even though (in my humble opinion) these books are not particularly well written and the dialogue can be very cheesy and intense. In saying that, I read Conor, the final book first for some reason and it was so good! (don’t ask me why I read the last one first).

I really struggled with what to rate this one because it felt quite underdeveloped, the couple gave me whiplash constantly and the plot and supporting characters needed a lot more depth but I also really enjoyed myself. Off I go to binge read the series now.

CHECK THE CWs PRETTY PLEASE

I would recommend it if you like a high heat dark romance between a sassy, tough FMC and a MMC who hates that he’s totally gone and fallen for the girl.

This was a lot darker than I thought it was going to be. I don’t mind, but I wasn’t expecting to handle trauma right from the start.

I enjoyed the book though, and I definitely was crying when Lachlan made some choices.

But I like Mack and Lachlan together, and that they brought out the softness in each other. The book did a great job of setting up the rest of the series.

This book is literally the first five star I have given a mafia romance, because it’s literally THAT good. Very realistic in terms of crime and corruption and things that happen to poor people who can fall under the radar. Even the parts that are unrealistic are easy to love. Heroine is an amazing character really strong and loving. Takes care of herself and tries to take care of those that she loves. The hero and his close friends? I’m obsessed. I’m reading this entire series and I’ll probably by this book in a physical copy, bc omg. (I cannot speak for any Irish culture, slang, Boston references, etc.)

Tw: this book heavily involves human trafficking (sex trafficking in specific), sexual assault/rape, sex work (including prostitution and erotic dancing), misogyny, poverty

Brief mentions of child molestation
