Phenomenal deep dive into the early years of one of the best characters in Naruto.
Gives a great amount of depth into the dilemma faced by Itachi and his ultimate goal of peace

A must read duology for any Naruto fan I'd say

Picked up this book as to get the full picture of Itachi as a character. In this aspect the book was a success. Nevertheless, still find him quite boring and the book itself is quite mediocre written, not poorly, but nothing spectacular. It reads very fast though, so it's not that big of a deal.

Really good information on one of my favorite characters in fiction. Gets info that wasn’t shown in Itachi’s story in the anime. Currently buying book 2 to finish the story.

As someone who grew up reading and watching Naruto's anime and manga, I was definitely excited to see what these spin-off light novels were about. When it comes to Itachi, he's probably one of my favorite characters in the series, so I had high expectations. I'd say the novel lived up to it's name. I really enjoyed how we got even more detail regarding Itachi's story. Obviously, some of the events were covered in the anime, but I loved how we got to see things that weren't shown. In addition, we see it directly from Itachi's perspective, rather than an outsider looking in. I think that aspect really made the difference, and it gave me even more respect for him as a character.
