If you like completely OTT books (or if you're in the mood for a completely OTT book), you might enjoy this kinda sweet, kinda funny book. Personally, I found it a bit boring after a while and I'm not sure where I stand on the super rich these days - even ones who want to spend their inherited billions on things like hockey teams and providing health care to their thousands of employees - but your mileage may vary. FWIW, it does have a sweetness about it and if you can put aside the real life distaste for millionaires and billionaires who DON'T PAY ENOUGH DAMN TAXES!! then you might enjoy it more than I did.

As long as you suspend belief and look at the story with comics and James Bond in mind, you will have a great time. The romance is quite secondary. In fact there is no on screen sex whatsoever. However it was fun and charming.

I fell so much in love with Tyler & Glen. I just had to suspend belief when reading this one, so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. It was so worth it!
Glen & Tyler have been friends for 16 years. They are now 25 and still the best of friends but surprise surprise they have been in love with each other for years. They don't say anything and just bury it down. With just 2 months before Tyler turns 25, he has to marry, so he can claim his inheritance. Glen proposes to Tyler, then it's off to alter for them. They have a magical kiss at the altar and the rest is history.
They both click from the off as a couple, and it seems that they have been married for years, not months. Having just inherited many billions from his grandfather, they both got quite a shock. I loved that the money didn't change them. I'm glad that they were still humble and set up a foundation to help others. There are no sex scenes in this book and I didn't miss them! Even without the hot sex, you could see the love between them.
After they get the money, everyone comes out of the woodwork. Tyler's dad and step mum are just vile people. His step mum was in the need of a good slap and so many others too. His grandmother and brother are the only family he has, his grandmother is one badass too! Things get crazier as the book goes on, and a plot comes to light to kill them, mainly Glen though. The bit on the ship had me glued to my seat and I just had to know that my guys were ok! This book is gay James Bond and I just loved it.
After I finished this book I had to read the other 4 books in this series too. They get even crazier as the books progress on and Tyler becomes even more like a super spy. He is an evil genius, just without the evil part. His step mum has enough evil for everyone! I am so happy that I found this book and gave it a go. This and the series were so worth it!

Want an OTT, funny, comic book-style romp? Then this is the book for you! Tyler needs to marry in order to get his inheritance, so he marries his best friend, Glen. From there, things get completely crazy. There are billions of dollars involved, a supervillain, and even some hockey. My only complaint? The fade-to-black, off-page sex. It essentially makes this a buddy comedy where they're married and kiss occasionally. But, still enjoyable!

As a few other reviews have stated, a rollicking fun read, generally implausible situations saved by humour, pacy writing and the general escape from reality!
Tyler needs to marry quick to save his inheritance - a fine old trope!
Up steps bff Glen - a new twist to that old trope, but the will dosen't state who Tyler has to marry!
And ahhh, the sudden realisation by both that their long term, deep abiding friendship is actually love.
Tyler's inheritance just gets more extreme as the book progresses and at one point I did think I should count up how much he'd spent but I do get lost with how many 0's are on millions, trillions and billions!
The cover has grabbed my attention before, though it had made me think of 1920's setting but it is contemporary, and I shall be looking at the others in the series now!

A lovely entertaining piece of escapism. I had read others in this series but not the first. Once again the action was OTT and the plot unbelievable but I had fun. The book is basically a comic book written as a novel - similar to Kingsman: The Secret Service which is based on a comic.

It was completely not what I expected. Without even wondering if it was better or worse than I expected, but just completely different. But there are also many things in this book that confused me, and I don't quite understand the choices the author made.
First of all, I thought it was going to be a romance, and it isn't. In fact, it is difficult for me to define the genre of this book. There's a bit of it all here. A little love story, a bit of suspense and quite a lot of action straight from the James Bond movie. I think I could enjoy it much more if that was what I expected. Though I am not entirely sure because this book is quite weirdly written. It's more like a TV show or a novel in episodes. Each chapter is basically a separate story. Not so much as to consider it a collection of short stories, but enough to make it difficult for me to point to any one coherent plot. As a result, I was able to stop reading anytime and come back to this book after a few months (which I did), and it didn't matter in the slightest.
Which does not change the fact that I really liked the main characters - Glen and Tyler. Together they make a great couple and I think I read this entire book just for them. But here, too, I'm a bit disappointed. With the chapters of the book, we see less and less Glen. At some point it becomes Tyler's story and Glen is just his accessory. Glen becomes downright redundant, his only trait is being Tyler's husband and this is his only role in the story. In one of the final chapters, Tyler tells him directly: "Don’t worry so much, all you have to do is stand up there with me and look hot." And that's what Glen's role in this part of the book comes down to. He ceases to be an equal hero of this book.
The plot is very difficult for me to tell about, because there really isn't much of it. But the last third of the book comes down primarily to Tyler boasting about his wealth and influence. It was tiring and a bit annoying. And also immature, like a story written by a twelve-year-old. I wish Tyler and Glen had the opportunity to use their minds and wits to solve their problems, not just rely on Tyler's influence. I probably shouldn't, but I was comparing Tyler to Roarke from the In Death series by Nora Roberts, and Tyler just lacked some charm. He relished his wealth and influence so much that it was exhausting.
But don't get me wrong, it's not a bad book. I am only disappointed that it was not what I expected and what I needed at the moment. I really like Tyler and Glen. Maybe I'll even read another book in this series one day. Plus the cover is really cute.

Fun, over the top story of two long time friends who wake up one day in love and decide to get married. The rest of the story is a suspend disbelief adventure of international intrigue, kidnapping, attempted assassinations, family issues and all around hand holding good time.

Tyler needs to be married to receive his inheritance. His best friend, Glen, proposes. Glen has already figured out he's in love with Tyler. Tyler figures it out during the wedding kiss. I don't really know how to categorize this book but I can tell you I enjoyed reading it. Tyler is over the top and so is the story. I fell in love with both main characters and can't wait to see what they get up to in their next adventure.
