Such a light, heart-warming and feel-good book.
Love how she potrait the mental health issues and how is not focused in only one character development (specially since the story is not that deep).
The ending is not something out of this world but is cute,it is worth the reading.

LOVED IT!!
One of my favourite books in a while, so easy to read, didn't want to put it down. Loved the characters and got really invested in Ros & George.
Can't wait to read more of Jo's books..

Ros is not in a good place when we meet her. Not only did her fiance jilt her at the church, but her "came with the house" guinea pig, Mr Edward, has been killed in a rather unfortunate gardening accident.
I loved this book. I loved the characters (Ros has some great friends), I loved the lack of any major nastiness (jilting, pet death & a little unfaithfulness aside) and I loved the gentle humour that punctuates the narrative and dialogue.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I'll certainly be reading more.

Es muss mit das Schlimmste sein, wenn einen der Ehemann bei der Hochzeit sitzen lässt. Nicht nur die persönliche Trauer, nein die öffentliche Scham kommt auch noch dazu. Kein Wunder also, dass sie Rosalind erst einmal vergräbt und leidet. Dass dann ausgerechnet ihr Hamster von ihrem bärtigen Nachbarn überfahren wird, ist da natürlich besonders schlimm, weil es alte Wunden wieder aufreißt. Aber es ist ebenso ein schöner Anfang.
Das Cover alleine ist schon sehr schön und vermag zu begeistern, aber auch die Geschichte hat ihren Reiz. Den Schmerz und die Schande kann wahrscheinlich jeder gut nachvollziehen, wenn man wirklich direkt bei der Trauung sitzen gelassen wird. Ich persönlich fand ihre Reaktion zwar etwas heftig und überzogen, aber diese Erkenntnis kommt bei jedem früher oder später bestimmt auch. Rosalind jedenfalls schafft es nun aufgerüttelt durch den Hamstertod, wieder so etwas wie einen Neuanfang zu wagen. Klar, wenn sich hinter all dem Bart auch so ein Schnuckel versteckt. Von da an stolpert sie in allerlei komische Situationen, die durchaus zu unterhalten wissen. Aber das Leben ist hier und da auch besonders grausam zu Rosalind, sodass man als Leser sehr gut mitleiden kann. Aber am Ende lernt man, dass man das Leben manchmal einfach so nehmen muss, wie es kommt.
Ein schön locker geschriebener Roman, der durch Witz und Charme überzeugen kann und dazu etwas wichtiges lehrt, das es nämlich immer irgendwie weiter geht. Man muss nur das Beste daraus machen.

Não posso dizer que não gostei do livro! Ele é fofo, divertido e os personagens são engraçados. Ainda assim, não pude dar 5 estrelas porque fiquei na expectativa de muita coisa que nem aconteceu. Gostosinho, mas podia ter acontecido as coisas mais rápido.
