Okay I read this for school and here's the thing: I'm not big on romance books, it's just not what I naturally gravitate towards at all. However, i didn't find this terrible. The plot is ridiculous and I had some problems with how women were portrayed, mainly that women were always compared with each other and some women put down to lift others up. The main character, Sarah, was also quite annoying with her constant self criticism. But I was at times pleasantly surprised with the representation of masculinity, which I didn't expect!

Overall I think someone who enjoys the genre would enjoy this!

“You’re beautiful, Sarah, you’re so beautiful…can you see it now?”

A sweet story about a single mum with low self-esteem and the hot Italian movie director who shows her that she is more than she believes she is.

I read this book years ago and forgot all about it. The second read was just as lovely as the first. I adored Sarah’s character. She is kind, sweet and a great mother. Her family is thoughtless to the point of unkindness. Lorenzo is such an unlikely hero. He’s taciturn, grumpy and so darned sweet. I got teary-eyed at his video message to Sarah at the end of the book. I highly recommend this book. It is a delightful must read!
