This is not my typical read at all, as a matter of fact it is my first sapphic read! It seems to be the most underrated and I haven't seen many people recommend any so when Kat announced she was writing a sapphic story I was not only excited but intrigued as well since I've never read one before but I KNEW if anyone could make it worth reading it would be KAT! This story takes place in her Halloween Boys universe which makes this a dark, gothic, spooky, paranormal romance. I love her ability to pull you right into the world with her writing style and storytelling, it's what makes her books so much fun to read. Posey is being auctioned off to be wed and when she runs away from her wedding she ends up at the place she's only heard about in legends and folklore, Lady Venoms estate. When Lady Venom takes her in as her captive in order to save her from her dreaded fate Posey is very much intrigued by her. Lady venom has every intention of keeping Posey despite the secrets she has. This story was fantastic! It brought something different to the table that I found not only refreshing but damn hot as well! The spice in this book was something else! I wasn't really sure what to expect like I said this is the first F/F experience I've had but I knew Kat wouldn't disappoint. Kat really gave us a romantic experience that was not only sexy, seductive and fun but it was sweet and gentle and beautiful to see their relationship form and how it evolves. It gave a really good different perspective for me in the spice that was really well written and enjoyable. I highly recommend this book even if it's not something you typically read but might be curious about or looking for a different experience or just love the universe of Kat's other books definitely give this a try it's worth it!

Dark, sapphic, spicy, feminist fantasy.. what more could you want in a book?
Finally, the person to fear in the night is a woman. Lady Venom rids the world of the foulest of men that try to violate her space and those under her care.
Posey comes to her by chance, trying to escape an unbearable marriage to a brutal man, she runs towards the rumours of the dark woman and snakes of the forest.
The evolution of the relationship between Lady Venom and Posey is beautiful to read from meeting, to mistress, to wives. The spice -oh the spice!- is exquisitely, tantalisingly toe curling and only adds to the story.
I highly recommend this quick read to anyone who loves their fantasy dark, spicy, sapphic and just that little bit twisted.

Multiple TWs for graphic murder, gore and sexual assault.
I received this book as part of an ARC reading, but the opinions above are entirely my own.

This was a great spicy sapphic read! I really like Posey and how she grew and became kickass, and Lady Venom was the perfect morally grey love interest! It had a great story and spice, and I'll definitely be checking out more of Kat's books

I love it!!! It's dark, it's mysterious, it's sexy. There's only one thing I'd think can be done better, the ending for the
curse. It feels a tiny bit anticlimactic when we know that Poesy loves Lady Venom but somehow Lady Venom still almost disappeared. It feels a bit rushed.
But overall, I still love it.
