Tender and tragic. Fascinating, if oddly paced. It kind of feels like the author "Yada yadas" past the years after their first divorce. It

Superb, but definitely needed a bit of an edit to make it really great.

Fascinating. They obviously did love each other, but when two sensitive souls get together and one is an alcoholic, and both are also fabulously wealthy, trouble ensues. The spending was insane, but the little things that showed their real friendship and understanding of each other was quite wonderful.

A fun biography of Taylor & Burton, but about 100 pages too long. I get that the authors might have wanted to exhaust the reader the way that Taylor & Burton were no doubt exhausted by their relationship, but it kind of went on & on...

I thought this was a topical read considering all of the talk surrounding Taylor's passing, as well as the planned tour and auction of her clothing in jewelry that's coming up. This provides interesting commentary and context. It also de-mystifies Elizabeth Taylor and makes her much more human than a mere screen goddess.

I have been trying to find a lot of the films mentioned in the book (Boom!, Dr. Faustus, etc.) but these lesser-quality films have not been put on DVD which is unfortunate.

A well-researched, timely, and entertaining book.

This book easily would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that it feels like no editor has even read it. There are names explained and then explained again later, stuff like that, mistakes that easily could have been erased.

Otherwise it's a stunning and (I feel) very realistic portrait of the marriage between Elizabeth and Richard.
