The Keeper is book 1 in the Playing to Win series. It's a forced proximity, Vegas wedding, hockey romance. Madeline and Easton were perfect for each other. This one is full of emotion. There are twist and turns. They have a great bond and all the chemistry. An enjoyable read.

I am in a deep, deep hockey romance rabbit hole and after reading some of my favourite books I thought I'd give this series a go and I'm afraid to say but it disappointed.

This is a short book of under 300 pages but to say the story was fast was an understatement, they got married in the first 8%!

There was no build up, no real story to follow other than they were deeply in love from the get go. Something happened at around 85% of the way through which is the only thing that did really happen.

I love a cute nickname but the constant 'princess, hockey boy, wife, husband' was unbearable - you have first names too!!

When I finished this book and read about the author I realised she first introduced Indy 16 books ago as a toddler, that is crazy to me! There's a family tree at the beginning but its so hard to follow if you're going straight into this series. Everyone is related in some way or another and the FMC has 9 siblings!
It was also strange to think the FMCs brother married the MMCs cousin but the cousin had taken custody of the MMC when his mom died when he was a teenager - see I told you it was hard to keep up!!

I was more interested in the second book of the series but I thought I'd give this a go first although I wish I didn't. I'll read the next one but will not be ordering the 3rd and 4th.

If I never saw the “my wife/wife” trope again, it would be too soon after this. Soooooooo overused.

Also not a fan of the Virgin FMC and playboy MMC and the “it’s always been you,” thing they had going on. MMC called FMC in the middle of the night to talk about shared trauma and he had another woman in bed with him… wtf?

I was excited for this book but I think this will be the first and last of this series I try to

There’s not a single thing that I would change. I loved the main characters, side characters, the banter, the spice, EVERYTHING. I wasn’t expecting to devour this book the way that I did.

I loved both Easton& Lindy! He was the perfect mix of gentleman & bad boy hockey player. While Lindy was never afraid to stick up for herself & fight for what she wanted knowing Easton was in her corner gave her more confidence and something to fight for.

I started this series in the middle and haven't read the previous series (which I have to go back and read once I finish the other books in this series) so I feel like I'm a little lost when it comes to everyone's history but I loved Easton and Lindy's story. I literally couldn't put it down but at the same time I didn't want it to end either.  I felt so connected to their story and it was obvious how strong their connection was.
