This Is Why We Lie is a new mystery where everyone has secrets. Following Jenna and Adam, we explore the murder case of Colleen O'Dell and her connections to other characters in the story.

This one was a little disappointing. I'll go through the pros first. First of all, the cover is a banger. Love it. Also, I had a really fun time reading it. It wasn't totally boring in any way.

And now the cons. I think that this mystery had potential but the execution was very underwhelming. I don't think the final reveal was built up enough and it followed a predictable pattern. I also didn't really enjoy the writing and I had no attachment to any of the characters. The romance between two of the main characters fell flat for me.

Overall, I can understand why people would like it and I would encourage you to read it because of this. Despite the cons, This Is Why We Lie is a fun and enjoyable read that's a good fit for people not as versed in the mystery genre.

The ending felt a bit rushed, but other than that, I absolutely loved this book! I couldn't get myself to put it down. I had many suspicions of who the murderer was throughout the book, but not one of them was right. It's rare when a book is that unpredictable for me. But one thing that I noticed was the cover reminds me of the cover of [b:All Your Twisted Secrets|41443369|All Your Twisted Secrets|Diana Urban|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1563991170l/41443369._SY75_.jpg|64684335]. I don't know if this was done on purpose or what, but I couldn't help but notice it. Anyone else agree?

I was curious enough to read to the end and it was an easy read, so I finished it. Super shallow character development, repetitive conversations, and just kind of blah. Might be someone else’s cup of tea, but for me it was just a quick and easy read for my reading challenge.

This is Why We Lie

A Double murder mystery! This is the second book of the author that I read and I should say it didn't disappoint. The murders involve a group of kids who are connected or travel in the same social setup. You think you know the killer once you start reading but then there is the voice in your head that tells you, "No it is never what we think and never so obvious". This motivates you to keep reading and there you get hooked and uncover the mystery feeling like Sherlock! A greatly written simple, yet thrilling murder mystery!

Just as gripping as the previous book by Gabriella, and again I no idea who did it or who was telling the truth. The author feeds you little bits of information gradually, making you doubt everyone and wonder if there's an unreliable narrator. Once you get into the book you don't want to put it down.

It reminded me of one of us is lying mixed with two can keep a secret, I like it 4 stars, I mean yes it was predictable and there is characters that did nothing to the story... it could've been better but it's a nice one.
