Very surprised at this. I thought I was in for a cheesy time with a fragile lead female. But nope! Interesting characters and fascinating backstory for the history of the USA. Never thought I would read a dystopian novel that was so lovely.

I really wanted to enjoy this read and needed something different after my last book. But I only got through chapter 3 before losing interest. It just wasn’t for me.

Such an easy read and was the perfect book to help me through my book hangover. But ugh why is her name America…. It could have been anything else

The beginning of the book was so cheesy that I almost put the book down and let it collect dust on my book shelf, especially finding out that her name was America Singer (how cheesy and corny can you get). I decided to give the book a good chance, and I'm glad I did. It wasn't a book that really made me think about anything, it was a really easy and fast read (which I can enjoy from time to time). Though some parts in the book annoyed me, mainly because I couldn't overlook the bad writing and the fact that Aspens character was so irritating, I enjoyed the love story between America and Maxon. I will read the second book in this series

I sometimes liked and sometimes disliked this book but it’s an entertaining YA read about a dystopian future set to the backdrop of The Bachelor.

The Hunger Games meets Divergent meets The Bachelor. Who knew how engaging this concept could be? I am drawn into Lady America as she embarks on the Selection torn between her first love and the growing connection between her and Prince Maxon. And I am very curious to know what the "North" and "South" really want...

So... I've seen the cover of this book frequently, Amazon reminds me how its 'highly recommended' and generally, I think the those suggested are just pumping over hyped novels into my pointless searching.
I'm all like

Welp, well played Amazon, well played. I'm never really wrong (right?) but I no reason to hate on this book!!

BECAUSE I FREAKING LOVED IT!

America had me wrapped around her finger. The girl is gusty, bold and not afraid to cage that up for anyone, especially Prince Maxon.

Yes, I said PRINCE.

And he is swoonnnnnn worthy!

I don't watch the dating shows, but I love a little romance, and I also love a man that picks a pushy girl that will give him a run for his money rather than a beautiful side piece that has hair spray for thoughts and concerns.

I've just finished book one and I'm already deep into book two!!! GAME ON!!!

Nicely done Kiera Cass, you've got me, hook, line and sinker.
