This volume of Vampire Knight was quite dark and atmospheric which I thoroughly enjoyed. But this dark style made some scenes actually hard to understand, like the scene with Shizuka and Kaname where it took me some time to see what was even happening. But oh boy, then I saw what was happening and this was such an amazingly dark scene!

There’s also drama around Zero and vampire politics – yes, vampire politics. Not as much as I could wish for, but I still like it. I loved the scene
where the Night Class saved Zero from getting killed, when they tried to to do the same thing a few volumes ago
as well.

I was a bit annoyed by Yuki this time. She always interrupts the characters when they want to fight which would make the story more exciting, and she behave very childish for no reason. I also wish that the male characters would let her actually fight, but they always stop her. They also always tell her that she should go away which annoys me so much.

We finally get to know more about the side characters, like Aido. I still have trouble to differentiate them since they’re all guys with blonde hair but now it’ll maybe get easier with them getting more spotlight. I’m still not sure if Kaname is really a “good” guy or if he has some not so good intentions, but I’ll find it out in the next volumes!
