Both of these short stories were lovely, what with the magic and the adventure and the romance. "The Honey of the World and the Queen of Crows" by Dimitra Nikolaidou is a story about a bad-ass nun who ends a war, among other things. It reads like a Shakespearean story (think Twelfth Night / Hamlet) being told at a bar - in the best way. R.K. Duncan's "Clever Jack, Heavy with Stories" reads more like a classic fairy tale, probably because its full of stories about magic and fairies that Jack uses like a road map to survive his journey to save the prince, even though that's what Mary-Anne should be doing, but Mary-Anne is more of the guns a-blazing type and even though it's decidedly unhelpful I love her for it.
In conclusion: These are two of the cutest goddamn stories I've ever read.
