Probably 3.5 but couldn’t give 4 stars. Still, another good entry in a series I’m enjoying. The more books in the series I read the more I become a fan of Davenport.

great book, different from his others in that it was a bit more cerebral than his usual action driven stories.

This is the first book in the series that I struggled with. The first half is a traditional whodunit and it just didn't really work for me but once it settled down in the 2nd half and became more of a Lucas Davenport book it became much more enjoyable. Sometimes authors should just stick with what they know.

My first Lucas Davenport book. Every one of my predictions was wrong straight through to the end.

Davenport is such a great character and this whole plot was really good. I could hardly put it down. As usual Richard Ferrone did a great job narrating.

I can go without reading one of these for a bit but as soon as I start hearing Lucas and his detectives start working out a case I smile.
