Tame is a fucking legend! Go Grace 4๐Ÿ‘€ NB writing style was difficult to follow (itโ€™s often scattered and her thoughts are frequently sidetracked and is a symptom of her autism and ADHD) but I appreciated getting an insight into her nuro-divergent mind.

Tame's voice really comes through - her bluntness and unique sense of humour. It helps balance out the dark subject matter.

The first quarter is a bit slow with so much detail about her family (so many names!) but it then picks up momentum in its nonlinear storytelling. How much time she devoted to talking about her family is just another part of her compassion and empathy that shines through in this book. Her advocacy for victim/survivors of child abuse is so rooted in this empathy, telling her story for not only herself but to bring change and support for others affected. Yet she also isn't a martyr.

I also love how unashamedly autistic she is. She mentions it occasionally, but it's just another thing that makes her up. I was interested into this book from her humour & honesty on TV, but what ultimately lead me to pick it up was wanting to read about the experiences of autistic women.
