This was an enjoyable thriller that is a follow-up to Hillier's first novel, Creep. It was somewhat predictable, but an entertaining and quick read nonetheless.

omg what a wild book! This one had a faster pace + was a little more suspenseful than book 1, but both are creepy + twisted nonetheless.

Somehow I didn't realize that this was a series and I read this book before I read Creep. Luckily for me the author did a good job at filling me in without making it obvious that I missed an entire plot line. The end of this book also sets up a third one if she chooses to do so, but it could end here as well. Overall, I really liked this book. Selfishly, I enjoyed the fact that it was set in Washington State and I recognized some of the landmarks (which the author fictionally created based off of real places), and I enjoyed the range of characters in the book. There were strong female leads which was refreshing, although they all had obvious faults to them. The main villain is so manipulative that at times, even as a reader with access to the different characters' psyches, I wasn't sure who to trust or support. Innovative and interesting.

This book is the second is the series and one I binged over the weekend because I had to find out what happened to with the Tell-Tale Murders. Free Abby Maddox starts popping up everywhere. Dr Sheila Tao cannot get away from it and move on with her life.  Suddenly, there is a new murderer in town with one goal - to free Abby Maddox.  Is it a copycat? Did they get the right killer to start with?  What is their end game?  Old wounds resurface. Time does most certainly not heal all wounds.

Fast paced, gory and twisty.  It was just what I needed to end my low key weekend.

Was willing to put up with a lot of subpar writing and an obvious “secret” accomplice, as the story was fairly engaging. But ending was a dealbreaker. Horrible.
