ARGGHHH GILAAA ARC JEJU RAID BENER BENER TEGANG BANGET, EPIC BANGET, DEG DEGAN BANGEEETTT!! SUNG JIN WOO KEREN ABIS GILAAA!!

Sebenernya gue agak menyangkan hunter yg dari Jepang itu kan katanya kuat-kuat yah tapi sayang banget ceritanya gak di develop maksimal. Apalagi Goto Ryuji kan paling kuat di Jepang harusnya dikasih kesempatan buat show off his skill dulu gitu. Terus lagi hunter ranked-S dari Korea pun padahal datengnya rame kan yaaa tapi yaaa gitu lah. Cuma aku tetep sukaaa!! Bagus banget!!

The Jeju Island raid is not going as planned. Even a team of S-Rank hunters are no match for the monsters that lurk on the island. Seems like only one person might have the power to defeat them.

In the aftermath of the Jeju Island raid, the plot thickens. Other forces are at play, both magic beats and government nations. What are they aiming for? And will Jinwoo be able to stand up to them? More importantly, what toll will this take on him, his family, and the world at large. If a person can get this strong, is there any way to stop them? The moral questions start to grow as we realize that our main character finds himself as, well, the main character.

I'm curious to see where the story goes from here. The story has gone beyond what I thought would be the scope of the narrative, and continues to one-up itself in each installment.

Some of these characters are twisted! The guild leader with the fire powers? The dude used to kill ants with a lighter as a child. What the actual fuck? I wouldn't trust a person that reminisces fondly of doing that with my safety and life. Absolutely not.
On the other hand, I'm getting rather fond of how bad Jinwoo is with names. It's kind of funny.

Summary:

Jinwoo Sung has a reputation among the other hunters and dungeon adventurers – he's known as the Weakest Hunter of All Mankind. However, one job changed everything. It should have been a regular dungeon, but it quickly became life-or-death. Somehow Jinwoo survived – but he's forever changed. Now, he's working hard to level up and change the game.

The stakes have never been higher. Jeju Island is invested with giant ants, and if the hunters don't stop them, they will quickly overwhelm Korea (if not the world). Jinwoo is still undecided on whether he should sit this one out or not, though, given that he's finally gotten his family back together.

Review:

Okkaaaay. It’s safe to say that the stakes have changed in Solo Leveling, Vol. 7. It’s no longer about Jinwoo trying to cobble enough resources together to save his mom. Now, it’s about Korea (and possibly the world?).

The scale shift was probably necessary, given Jinwoo’s power level. However, I’ll be curious to see the long-term fallout for this plot (is there a long-term fallout? I don’t even know).

I’m a bit conflicted about some of the fights in this volume. On the one hand, seeing other high-level hunters battle was pretty exciting. On the other hand, a few of the designs were a bit too similar, so I got lost in the action in a couple of places.

Solo Leveling, Vol. 7 totally ends in a bit of a cliffhanger. One could argue that every volume has ended with one, but this one felt different. Maybe because everything is changing so quickly?
