This wasn’t quite for me. While I think that Colleen writes in a way that’s easily accessible for many readers I didn’t feel as much emotion through this story as I usually do from reading her work. I don’t think it necessarily romanticizes cheating because I think the writing intentionally showcases the difficulty between our instincts, feelings, and morality, but I do feel as though the payoff at the end wasn’t really all that great. Having these characters come together after there barely being issues in Ridge’s previous relationship but suddenly being told it’s been a long time coming was odd and a little unbelievable. I also didn’t like how much physical violence there was— seemed more than just angst to me. Still a very quick read if you want something easy to enjoy.

Consent is cool. I get the enemies to lovers thing but this was done poorly, and at one point Warren convinced himself that Bridgette wanted him to have sex with her even after she said no multiple times. No means no. I truly think this story needs to be re-written.

I don't know what i was expecting when i picked this book up but it was not what this book actually is. I love how Ridge is deaf and sign language is incorporated into the text and how she used humour as well to get the point across. The character building was amazing and i felt like this is more than just a romance book, it also faces more pressing issues such as deafness and CRF which is a deasly uncurable disease. This is one of the few romance books i've read where i like the ending.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
I honestly cannot put into words what this book did to me. I wasn't able to put the book down from the first page. This book was extremely captivating with a balance of intense love, friendship, drama and heartbreak.
I loved every word and is so sad it had to end.
