As a vet student I really enjoyed this book and recommended it to my non vet parents. I think it provided a nice insight into the highs and lows of the profession in an accessible way.

I’ve seen this book branded as Adam Kay’s hilarious memoir in vet form. I have to say, I can’t really agree with that statement. It was definitely insightful, eye opening + interesting, and there were some parts that were funny, but a lot of the book was very info-heavy with more political + ethical discussion than I’d been anticipating. I had picked this up wanting to hear about the life of a vet + his patients, not necessarily to hear so many opinions.
Nonetheless, this was a raw + honest autobiography, detailing the good, the bad + the downright ugly of veterinary medicine, that was both educational and thought provoking.
