This is a beautiful book chronicling a conversation about fear between a young boy and his elderly grandmother. Both have very different fears due to their stages in life. The grandmother is afraid she won't see squirrels anymore or the white flowers in bloom. William is afraid of angry dogs and stinging wasps. Talking about their concerns is exactly what they both need. William realizes what his grandmother is most afraid of is losing the ones she loves. Read this book with a child who has a loved one that is terminally ill.
