This was rough. The writing was simple but fine. Rest of it though, oof. The world itself feels like a slapped together mess with arbitrary rules and there were constant callbacks to previous series book characters. Nothing that broke the book, but more you felt as if you were missing all the inside jokes/references. The entire plot constantly read like a bad soap opera. It's amazing anyone in these books has all their limbs given the amount of dramatics and fighting over nothing. I didn't feel a speck of feeling between the two main 'love interests'. Can't recommend this series or anything else by this author after this one (unless the above qualities appeal to you).

Genuinely one of my favourite books by Shelly -- ai know some night find it slow but i loved the development of the relationships (platonic and otherwise) and just how funny it is it.

Fun, romantic and action packed. It's been a while since I read something by Shelly. This book reminded me why I love her writing so much.

Sorry, i tried. But i could not get into this book. Couldn’t even get through the first chapter. Way too much exposition and abrupt immersion for my taste. Really wasn’t into the “half animal” theme. It was less fantasy than I expected and more just everyday gang plot with a weird fantasy twist. Not my thing. Gave more stars than i was inclined, however, because i could tell that it was less about quality and more about my personal preference.

This was not for me. It had a thin plot; about one million different characters, none of whom you really get to care about as you read, a lot of weird gore/ blood scenes (Stevie jumping on people’s backs with her claws. Like what?), and a lukewarm romance sub(?) plot that goes who are you-no thanks because I’m cursed and it’s contagious -I love you forever. With no explanation for why the shifts occur.

In the upside, the grammar and language was good

Read for Review/Listened for Fun (NetGalley/Audible)
Overall Rating: 3.75
Story Rating: 3.50
Character Rating: 4.00

Audio Rating: 4.00 (not part of the overall rating)

Quick Thoughts Story: Hot and Badgered had a lot of the qualities that I loved about her Call of Crows series: Quirky Characters, Strong Women, Hot Men, and HUMOR! While I felt there wasn't enough time spent on the romance, I did enjoy the book. I am really looking forward to the sisters stories.

Quick Audio Thoughts: Traci Odem did an excellent job bringing these characters to life. I totally recommend getting it on audio.

I LOVE this shifter world. I love it so freaking much. It is without a doubt my favorite PNR shifter world. This book is based in the same world that her Pride series is in. But with different people. Specifically honey badgers. YAY. If you read the Pride series then you know Liv.. and Liv was freaking hilarious. So I was so excited to start this series. And it did NOT disappoint.

Charlie is half honey badger and half wolf. She is kind of the mother hen of her two sisters. I kind of feel like you should go into this book not knowing anything specific about the sisters so I won't tell you about them but I will say that I loved them. Berg is a grizzly and omg have I said how much I love the bears in these books?! I could go on and on but I won't. I loved every single character in the book. I loved that we got little glimpses with some of the shifters from the Pride series. I loved how absolutely crazy and funny this book is.

I think I said loved 302 times but I don't care. It was fantastic and I am so excited for the next one!
