You know what's worse than insta-love? It's insta-lust and too much information about the sex that follows. I thought the author would've learned from the first book. The superhero fighting and other stuff were cute but this sex descriptions absolutely repel me from going with the series further. It's not erotic as the author might hope, it's downright cringy. And I cannot go through it again.

And the story isn't getting a little old? Anyone who saw the first scene of Johnny angel could put 2 & 2 together and Fiona couldn't quite put the finger on it until much later? I thought Carmen was stupid but this is just Hugh normous level of stupidity. And Lulu , I kinda liked her a little in the first book. Her character just downgraded to major annoying. The author needs to stop objectifying men & women, especially men before I detonate a bunch of solidium on her copies. So bland and damn predictable. I will not be continuing with the series.

Hot Mama is the second book in the Bigtime series and I just loved getting to reenter this world. I was just drawn into this wonderful story and I just couldn’t get enough of it. It was just so easy to get lost in this great story. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

This would have been a four, because the story was good, the characters are interesing, and I love how exactly like a comic book it is - Fiona Fine, Bella Bulluci, all those other great alliterations for names; bombs made of explodium; hilarious superhero names like Halitosis Hal (I think it was Hal, it might be Harry)... but Jennifer Estep needs to clear the phrase "and more" from her vocabulary FOREVER. Seriously, there were sections of the book where her descriptions included "and more" three times a page. It was so annoying. I don't recall her first book, Karma Girl, having anything like that, so maybe it was a case of a new, not as thorough editor? The other obnoxious thing was the constant repetition of "so-and-so aka superhero name". I get it. I'm not stupid, and once you've introduced that this person is actually x superhero, I don't need you to keep repeating it. I understand that they are the same person. Stop saying aka. It's annoying.
So, other than editing issues - great, fun book. The repetition almost made me throw it down and stomp off halfway through, though, so be forewarned.

Following in the wake of [b:Karma Girl|1192756|Karma Girl (Bigtime, #1)|Jennifer Estep|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1181775509s/1192756.jpg|1180806] comes this story about another member of the Fearless Five: Fiera. I really love reading superhero romances and wish there were more of them out there, but in this story Fiera's attitude gets annoying quickly. Even with the annoyance factor, we still get a fast paced, interesting story. This book also sets up the next one, [b:Jinx|1474608|Jinx (Bigtime, #3)|Jennifer Estep|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1388235561s/1474608.jpg|1465619]. All in all, an fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Fiona Fine is the hottest fashion designer in Bigtime, but she is also one of the Fearless Five. Fiona has finally decided it is time to put herself back out there after the death of her fiance, and fellow Fearless Five member Tornado. First she has to deal with the new supervillains in town.

Fiona was not my favorite character in the first book and needless to say she didn’t improve much in this one. She is a thirty year old woman who expects to get her way in everything or she will throw a fit until everyone gives in. Fiona also has a very aggressive and negative attitude towards other characters in this book, particularly Carmen and Lulu, which makes it extremely hard for me to actually like her. Basically, I didn’t really like anything about Fiona.

Johnny Bullucci was a pretty good character but he was overshadowed by Fiona. Also it is hard for me to imagine him falling for someone as shallow as Fiona. It was very obvious who he was and it amazed me how stupid Fiona was about his identity.

I enjoyed the action scenes with them fighting the villains more than I enjoyed the romance between these two. I just had too many issues with Fiona to actually love this story. Also the beginning scene with the wedding felt repetitive since the first book started with a wedding and this made it harder for me to get into this book initially. I will continue reading this series but this one is definitely not my favorite.

Igazi girlpowerhouse.

Úgyhogy Fiona for president!

Not quite as fun as her first book, Karma Girl, but still a fun read. I actually started reading this a year ago, but never finished it as life got in the way. I picked up right where I left off & finished without having lost the thread at all. I'm looking forward to her 3rd in the series, which is in my pile of to-be-read. :D If you like comic books, you'll get a kick out of this series.
