It's wonderful to finish a series and know that the author did a bang up job of tying everything together. World War Z meets The Martian. That says it all. Scifi

Full review to come closer to release date but thought dumping first:
Wow what a perfect ending to this trilogy. I can't get over how fitting the title is with the overall story and the theme of this book.
Only Human really emphasised humanity and family which was beautiful.
I can't believe so much time has passed (but it would need to for all this stuff to happen) I feel like going back to the very beginning and reading Sleeping Giants again...
Rose, Kara, Vincent... SO MUCH LOVE.

What the hell happened? We're on this great story over the first 2 books and this just goes in a completely new direction, it's worse than the 3rd Hunger Games book. Nothing happens, it's just bland, boring event after event. It becomes less about finding out stuff and more of a interpersonal relationship driven story. Finished this through obligation. Just terrible.

Only Human, the third book in the Themis Files series, follows the same style as the previous two; the story is related using a combination of interviews, journal and log entries and news reports. As with the other two books, I loved this format and was once again pleasantly surprised by how well it worked.

Picking up from ten years after the second book, this one starts with the return of Vincent, Rose and Eva back to earth, and all the complications that follow. One of the main differences between this book and the previous two was the alternating shift from present to past, with a gradual revelation of what happened on the alien planet and how they managed to get back home.

While it was interesting to learn about the aliens, their customs, and their society, the storyline in this book didn't wow me as much as it's predecessors (especially the first book). The present day battle scenes between the robots was also not as thrilling as in the previous books. The humour, as always, provided a few good laughs although the dialogue felt a bit forced in certain places.

It was nevertheless a fun read overall and I loved the twist at the end!

A decent ending to the trilogy. A marked difference in tone from the previous two books, but still kept me rushing to turn the pages.
