A very good story told in tim curry's voice. At least by the audio book. Enjoyed it while at work and thought of how it would be today if someone would go down there.

A wonderfully curious group of adventurers and their trip below the Earth. This book was so much fun to read.

if it weren't for the violent tempo changes and the slightly sparse character development, i'd have gone 5 stars. that said, i felt like an eighth grader as this expedition unfolded in ever more spectacular and mythical ways. i always enjoy reading books that have served as prototypes for so many other great reads.
