After watching the new movie, and enjoying the first movie for many years, I decided I'd go back and read the books again. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a REALLY fast read, and very enjoyable. It's interesting to see what things they chose to use in the new movie vs. the old, and the story and characters are enjoyable in themselves.
I still like the Gene Wilder movie better, though. :D

Can’t believe I didn’t read this as a child. I would have loved it even more than I do now. Of course I’ve seen both films, but it was nice to revisit it in the original form

It's a very entertaining book (the last time i read this was 6 years ago) even after rereading it for the sixth time. It is a bit on the pedantic side, though. (Granted, it is for kids)
