What a great depiction of how we have developed in the medical world for the many ailments of the heart. It’s hard to believe that within the past 50 years, we have developed so many new lifesaving procedures for heart disease. The author, a cardiologist himself, details not only the history of medical advancements for the heart, but also stories of his patients and their journey with cardiovascular disease. He also details his own journey with heart disease. A beautifully written novel - 5 stars!

I would recommend it to others but I found it slow and the best part was the end but the beginning and middle were too much like a textbook.

Very informative and interesting. The book tells the story of cardiac medicine progress after progress.
It requires a little bit of effort if you don't already have a grasp of medical lingo, but it is intended for a general audience

Very interesting book, I learned a lot from it.
I like how the author mixed in the history of cardiology with his parents' medical cases. Not only was I able to know more about the humane part of medicine but I was also able to understand how cardiology has evolved.
I also like the personal touches in the book, where the author talks about his own life. It made the book more interesting and intriguing to read.
