This was a cool short story. It gives much to think about, and did slightly give me the chills. Because it's written in a different time, the tone and style suit the story and add some spookiness in my opinion.

Was it the scariest story I've ever read? No. There's definitely a strong sense of foreboding and anticipation though.

I'll probably be thinking about the story for a while to come.

This creepy little tale about trains and ghosts was one of the last things Dickens completed before he died. I really love the design of this edition from Biblioasis, featuring appropriately expressionistic art from Seth. Why did we get away from telling ghost stories at Christmas?
