I think this has been one of my favorites from the Inspector Gamache series! As always, Penny uses the murder mystery container to explore the human condition in such a gentle, eye-opening manner. The topic of this book was about power and those who abuse it. The group dynamics of students and how they can be molded by teachers (for good or bad) was thought provoking. The ending felt quite surprising to me. Though you should know I’m normally pretty bad at guessing the murderer! But I often don’t even stop to try; I like to just follow the story as an observer, rather than play detective myself. Definitely want to give a gun violence warning on this one.
