Light fun easy read...perfect distraction during a way too stressful Cubs game.

Essie writes something for fun, but then something happens and everyone knows her mistake. Her boyfriend, his mum, and she looses everything. Her job, her boyfriend and her home. But honestly, her boyfriend was not that special and his mum a horror. Even if it takes Essie a while to realise this.

So she needs a place to live, an a new job and all POVS come together. As for Essie, she was normal and likable.

Then there is Cilla, a 83 year old with a taste for fashion, and omg she was so cool.

Connor, who left a good paying job to find his passion. A nice guy.

Then there is Lucas, a bar owner, and Essie's BFF Scarlett who sounds like a hoot.

They all have their spot in the limelight and I do not know how she does it. The book is not that long, but the story takes place over some months so people have time to become friends, find romance and find new things to like. It all works really well.

A nice story about many stories. Friendships are made and romance is found

Narrator Esther Wane
Oh her voice of this annoying person cracked me up, and I liked her Connor voice. It made me lol.
She did a great job with it all

I love Jill's books. Right off I knew I was going to adore Essie.I have the same loathing for Holiday letters and the OMG moment was great. Then we meet Zillah and all I can say is can I be her when I grow up. She is my kind of lady, one who takes risks, has a devil may care attitude, and just enjoys life. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, where yes I really did laugh out loud.

This is very Jill Mansell, but it’s not the best book I’ve read by her.

I absolutely fell in love with this book.

Why did Essie write that round-robin, the one that went viral… it was only meant to be a bit fun between Essie and her friend Scarlett, it was never meant to hurt anyone… until it got sent, that is.

Essie soon finds herself homeless and jobless, can she turn her life around?

This story, the characters, everything about this book kept me reading and unable to put my book down.

This book faces some thought-provoking and moving moments as Zillah offers patients in hospice care a ‘make a wish’ voluntary service. We also see some romances blossoming, tragedy and a moving reconciliation.

This could change everything is my second Jill Mansell novel that I’ve read and I cannot wait to read more. Jill Mansell provides us, the reader, with heart-warming, fun, feel good stories.

This is a book I can highly recommend to fans of Carole Matthews and Holly Martin.

I loved this book! I love all the characters, Zillah in partcular, what a scream and with a massive heart of gold!

I love Jill Mansell’s books, I love the way she tells the stories that needed to be told and I love the love and affection she has for her characters. I have to pinch myself that I am on the tour for one of her books! ….And breathe

Essie, living with her infamy is homeless and jobless, sounds like the best thing for her at least she’s not living a lie now. She decided with her best friend Scarlett, to do a round robin email….only thing is it got sent to everyone including her mother in law and boyfriend, some not so nice things were said, this I can relate to this as I have kind of done something similar in the past! Things start to change when she meets Zillah, she gets a job and a place to stay and we meet Connor and Lucas.

Connor, another character I adored, giving up his law firm job after not billing a sick client who wanted to write her will, and we see some focus on his photography, which is amazing (well in my head) and it is a hit with the regulars in the Red house pub and is a monthly event for everyone to meet up.

Zillah has a complete heart of gold, trying to give back where she can and is just damn right fabulous. I love what she does to give back, and it made me have to dab my eyes a bit. We all need to be a bit like Zillah. It does make you think about how to change your ways, and how to take the time to help others even with the smallest of gestures.

I could gush about this book all day, it has everything for an old-fashioned romantic like me, and I even had a few tears. The theme of second chances and starting anew is something I love!

Please pick this book up and read it. Do it now!! You won’t regret it!

I listened to this on audio through HOOPLA during my holiday travels. At around 11 hours, it took up the majority of both legs of my drive which was great. I enjoyed the narrator, and it was a nice story to distract me from the long road ahead. It didn't blow me away, but it didn't need to. The characters were fun and like-able, it was a good addition to Jill Mansell's lineup.

a lovely easy read

This does follow the predictable chick lit books but the characters make it a want to finish story. Everyone is so well written. It is a lovely read and I do recommend if you want something light and easy to read

This was a very fun read. I loved all the characters and the different relationships that developed between them all (romantic as well as platonic). This is the second book by Jill Mansell that I've read, and I really appreciate her voice and writing style. I feel like fans of Sophie Kinsella would appreciate this author as well.
