The good: lots of discussion of self hypnosis, the history of hypnosis, etc. lots of different recipes for different goals (pretty much all variations on the same recipe).

The bad: the formatting of the e-book is atrocious. I actually sent them a note on day one (like, the first day the book was out) to complain and they haven't sent through an updated copy, so I assume it's still terrible.

Eason is also very repetitious and prone to quote lots and lots of studies, which comes off as very appeal to authority. As someone who runs hypnosis diploma courses, shouldn't he have many stories of his own?

His impetus for writing this book was his changing model of how hypnosis works, a new model that completely invalidated an earlier book of his. He spends a LONG time on the assertion that hypnosis and trance are not the same thing. Which is great, but if he's going to go on about it that much, shouldn't he go into why they've been so closely intertwined? What is trance, then?
