The author is one of the funniest I’ve ever read. She made the dry, dusty history of presidents, politics and assassinations humorous and relatable. I’ll be looking for more of her writing.

The best kind of history books are written by Sarah Vowell. Also, for the trivia nut, the book hits all the right notes.

I want to be Sarah Vowell. Funny, witty, incisive, AND she likes to travel to obscure sites of interest. Fantastic!

I really enjoyed this book! When I've tried to describe to people what this book is about, I realize it sounds lame/boring/kinda weird....but give it a try! Her love of her topic is so infectious, and her humor and storytelling ability are so good, you'll find yourself looking at what you knew about these three assassinations in a new way.

I like it when she calls Robert Todd Lincoln Jinxy McDeath, and tells us that Garfield's spine was waved around the trial of his killer. I wish she'd spent more time on e.g. Czolgosz and less in adoration of Abe Lincoln (though he was awesome, agreed).

Sarah Vowell's approach to history is great - quirky and serious, morbid and funny. It's good enough for me any day, even if the audiobook didn't have Stephen King as Lincoln and Jon Stewart as Garfield.
