admittedly I've been referring to enmu as "that zesty train demon" for so long that I forgot he has an actual name. n e ways, apart from the pacing during that first chapter or two being rather atrocious, this volume was incredible! mugen train was my favourite arc in the anime, so it's no surprise that I ended up enjoying this as much as I did. I loved how psychological this was at times, especially with tanjiro's dream sequence (which was so gut-wrenching you could have stabbed me in the chest and ripped my still-beating heart right out of me and it would've hurt less), and it's why I find enmu himself to be such a fascinating villain. and we can't forget about my beloved rengoku! I forgot how much I loved him and how much of a wonderful character he is. his relationship with our main group is so pure and so, so fun.

and, of course, there's inosuke not knowing what a steam train is. iconic.

the brief genya cameo at the beginning of this volume was exciting (since he's one of my favourite demon slayer characters), but how much time has passed between final selection and the beginning of this volume? because puberty hit genya like a freight train. (no pun intended because. you know. train demon.)
