Great homage to Tom Baker's Doctor, complete with K-9, the Scarf, and a nice tie-in to Matt Smith's Doctor.

Quite an exciting fast paced story with Four and Leela. Excellent writing, which it was longer. Loved the foreshadowing: "One day I might wear a bow tie."

Bow ties are cool ;)

When the fourth doctor takes Leela to a wooden space station-essentially a giant tree-the tree wakes and seeks revenge against the Doctor.

Great little book. The characterisation was spot on in this book. Lines were perfect for the Doctor and Leela.

A nice surprise along the way helps give it a boost just when it needs it.

*3.5 stars

The best of the first four so far, this story was actually quite interesting and fun.
The doctors character seemed to really shine through and it was enjoyable to read.
I liked how it was written like it is normally filmed, it has the same build up as an episode which was fun!

If I could give six stars, I would. I love when future doctors cause problems for their past self. The fourth doctor’s disgust at eleven’s bow tie was quite lovely. Always nice to see Leela in a story, as well.

An interesting adventure in which the Fourth Doctor and Leela visit a wooden space station made up of a sentient tree(!) and inhabited by a colony of humans that have been waiting a long time for the Doctor to return....

Leela's observation of the Doctor at one point: "Sometimes he was like a child, sometimes a god. Often he seemed to be both at once." Spot on.

Not my favourite of what I have read so far but still a solid story! I don't think it fully captured Baker's grumpy old man side, and I don't know this companion. The Tom Baker episodes I have seen have Sarah Jane in them. The space station and the villain was creative and I liked how the explained why they were mad at them. The ending felt more rushed then the last ones and I felt that it was conveniently thrown together. On to five! Whoot!

An evil tree planet is the villain in this ebook, an adventure of the Fourth Doctor. I liked the planet and the plot in general, but I think it could have been a little more developed if it was a little longer (and yes, I know these are supposed to be short, but maybe this idea could've been used for a regular book?). I loved that the companion for the Doctor was Leela and I'd have loved if she had been more used too, because it felt a bit too centered on the Doctor alone. The Doctor was nice, but he didn't exactly feel like Tom Baker's Doctor. Also, K9 was mentioned, but he stayed in the TARDIS to recharge his batteries? Why must you hurt me this way?
Overall, it was a good short story, but in my opinion, it could have been better.

More like 3,5*, really.

This was a fun, quick and mostly enjoyable read. Not a story that will provoke thought, or a story that you will remember for a long time, but an enjoyable read anyway.
