QUE ES ESE FINAL POR DIOOOOS DEJEN HABLAR A LA GENTEEEEE LPM
bueno
a ver

Simon looks so much like James Dean on that cover, I want to eat him.

I am a Rainbow Rowell stan and Snowbaz obsessive so I know my perspective is biased, but Wayward Son deserves so much more love than it gets. The whole premise of “what happens after the happy ending, when the dust settles and you have to figure out how to live again?” is just brilliant and beautiful. And it’s clear how much Rowell loves these characters. Normally I get so frustrated by the romance trope of “poor communication skills as plot device” but in Rowell’s hands we really see and understand how these characters we love struggle with their trauma and the ways they feel about themselves. Plus this book really fleshes out Penelope and Agatha in lovely, complicated ways. Also I love a road trip novel. I’m from Nebraska, lived in Chicago, I love Las Vegas and I’ve made that whole trip many times, so the whole book is just a nice shot of nostalgia for me. Also Euan Morton narrates and is just phenomenal.

I like the parts where they actually take their trauma that gets discussed in the last book the most interesting. Sadly those are few.
I love how the world building got expanded and the characters learn about themselves.
But most of the time it was to much goofyness for my taste.

Starts out promising and then meanders for a very large chunk of the book, setting up a sequel at the end, and the world building becomes hard to believe, considering I was already onboard with the first book. Not a very satisfying ending at all.

I love this world so much. It's so fun, colorful and Simon and Baz are absolutely adorable (even when they're not getting along).

We got a taste of several things in this book - namely vampire knowledge and discussion of decoding magical DNA, but I've heard these plot lines don't carry into the next book. I'm hoping we see a continuation because they seem vital to the characters' development and story progression. We'll have to see on that one.

What I can say for sure is this was very much a feel-good read for me. Plot holes occasionally cropped up, but I just let myself enjoy the story and not think too much about it. The only things I especially didn't like were the very ending - because that was a cliffhanger but most certainly not an effective one - and of course, I want Simon and Baz happy. I do also wish Shepherd had been able to bond with Penelope and the crew a little more authentically, but I hope he's kept around.

I'm so glad I waited to start this until the 3rd book was already released, because now I can just go and start that one (:
