It’s been building to this book. And I can’t help but feel rather somber. However overall it’s a masterpiece. Layers upon layers of conclusions to the various tales we’ve been getting pieces of here or there it’s so good.

As I have been reading "The Sandman" collections, it has truly been an up and down journey. There have been some that I have loved and would reread again. And there has been others that I just didn't like at all and had to force myself to get through. But through that all, it paid off there in the 2nd to last The Sandman, The Kindly Ones.

All of the random plots that came before in the other volumes converge here to play their part in Dream's ultimate fate. The ending seems very fitting and almost poetic. I could see the seeds of it being planted from the first volume, but to see the way it paid off was just beautiful. I am almost a little hesitant to go to the last volume, The Wake. At this moment, I just can not fathomed where Gaiman can go after leaving us like he did with The Kindly Ones. But if I have learned anything in my journey through this series, it is to trust in Neil Gaiman, and boy do I ever.

Finally everything is starting to come together. This volume is the longest so far and the whole thing focuses on Morpheus and orienting the story toward the endgame. Very excited for volume X!

The kindly ones, the end of the Sandman series. I enjoyed this book, the art was good throughout, and always fit the tone. Occasional sections were hard to read, but for the most part they were quite clear. This was the longest section in the Sandman series, but there were no lags, no lack of interest. Solid storytelling throughout. I did not enjoy it as much as the last section, but I did enjoy it.
