Plot:
Take a walk through the woods with Jamie Simpson, as he tells you why you should care about the Maritimes forest as much as he does. From personal stories and photographs to the layout of the land and how you can access it, this book is perfectly described as a leisurely stroll through the woods, one that you can definitely get yourself lost within.

Thoughts:
You can tell that Jamie Simpson is a forest guy. Written in a personal narrative, Simpson takes the readers on the adventures that he has, making you see the forest as the magical place that he finds them to be. With nice writing that truly reads as if Simpson was talking to you, this book not only educates you on current forest matters, what “clear-cutting” a forest is and how it feels from a forest lover point of view, and the people that Simpson met that also care about the forest as much as he does. The best part of the book is when Simpson describes the locations you can visit, giving out directions to the old-growth forest in the wildlife reserves, and other interesting tidbits you can find there. Overall, this book is perfect for the tree-lover in your life, and those interested in planning their next hike and are looking for spots around the Maritime to go.
