3 1/2 stars. Good story about a secret pact made between Abe Lincoln and the head of the Mormon church during the Civil War. I found the Mormon religious history interesting. Didn't like how Cassiopeia was acting in the story. Will be interesting to see what happens with her and Cotton in the next book.

Have read all his books and I feel each story line of Cotton Malone gets better with age!

Mr. Berry is expert intertwining the past with the present focusing on an historical person, event or relic and the relevance to present day situations. Book number 9 in Mr. Berry’s Cotton Malone series focuses on Abraham Lincoln and reasons the Civil War was waged in the U.S. In addition to Mr. Lincoln, the founding fathers and the Constitution, the Mormon Church figures prominently in this story.

As usual all is not as it appears with many plot twists back and forth across the Atlantic from the U.S to Europe to keep Malone and company busy. Not Berry’s best work but it should hold the interest of his fans.

I have to admit to fast forwarding through a large part of The Lincoln Myth, due to the intricate US Constitution and secession or not details, of which there was quite a lot. I also found the lengthy Mormon history and theology details quite slumbery. On the other hand, there was the enjoyable, almost Bond movie quality, delusional main antagonist planning to overthrow the United States, couple of new characters (Luke & Katie) that seem certain to appear in the next Cotton Malone book, President Daniels seems to be fading out of the series, and the real cliffhanger is "will Cotton ever see Cassiopeia again?". It was OK, but only for ardent readers, I suppose.

This was another fun book in the Cotton Malone Series.  I love the different myths and legends that he likes to intersperse in this series.

This was not my favorite Cotton Malone book. Hopefully, it's just because I did not enjoy the topic; although I did enjoy the usual separation of fact from fiction at the end. I hope that this series isn't tiring.
