I hated this book.  I was expecting a thriller but it’s more horror.  It seems that he is trying to tell the story from Abigail’s perspective but it missed the mark for me.  The women are stereotyped and very one dimensional.  I found his writing style strange and redundant.
Spoiler  The end of the book verges on murder porn.  It was evident from early on the husband is in on it and hired “Scottie” to test Abigail.  Even with all the plot twists and plot holes (who edited this book?!?) the story was predictable.  The only unknown was if Abigail would survive.  I should have just googled the ending to find out.
Don’t waste your time.  I should have DNF’ed this one.

This was so boring??? Super predictable and I didn't care about the main character. The only reason I finished it is because it was short and fast to read.

This was my first Peter Swanson and I heard so many good things about his books, so I'll try another one in the future and hope I'll like it more than this one.

 Yeah, no.
Maybe I shouldn't read books about marriages, I really don't enjoy them. :D The beginning was so boring. Telling a stranger everything about your past relationships during your bachelorett party (including highschool and family details completely irrelevant to the plot)? And then cheating with him on your fiance? And then just all the red flags, when the fiance/husband became totally controlling? But the book gets bonus points for pointing out that mabay she wasn't questioning her husbands creepy behavious because he was rich.
There was almost nothing surprising about the plot, you could see every twist coming ... basically from the beginning. The most surprising part was that action sequence at the end that reminded me a lot of the Tomb Raider parts I hate to play. I enjoyed that but it was pretty convenient to learn about all those hidden skills of the protagonist the second she needed them.
