I literally stayed up till 5 in the morning to finish this series. I liked it that much.

At first it was hard to get into, but after awhile it picked up and I just had to know what happened to the characters. JesseLynn and Louisa made amazing main characters, and I loved seeing them grow and learn. My heart definitely ached for them in a lot of places, but their journey was truly amazing. Plus the secondary side characters were really great, and I loved how the struggles and fears of everyone were realistically portrayed when it came to trusting God, and it's something I can definitely relate to.

This being the first civil war historical fiction I've read, it was pretty good, and it's definitely got me interested in reading more books in that genre. It feels like I've just run a marathon, but I guess that's what happens when you binge read 3 books within 2 days ;)

4 definite stars for me
