It took me longer to get into this story and click with the characters than with Royce & Hadrian and their journey.
I can't exactly tell you why, but it doesn't matter in the end because about 30% in, I got invested and couldn't put the book down.

I postponed starting this book a few times, mostly because I didn't want to enter this world without Royce and Hadrian in it. They've been living rent-free in my head and I didn't want different characters to overshadow them. Well, Persephone, Raithe and Suri have become a welcome addition and I'm looking forward to reading about their journey.

The way everything just fell into place in the last few chapters was highly unexpected and the twists and turns blew my mind. I'm now even more intrigued, especially after the last few sentences in this book. I need to know why...

If you've liked Riyria, then I'm pretty sure you're also going to enjoy this book.

Meh... It wasn't terrible, but wasn't particularly good either. The story as a whole is rather bland and really never hooked me like a good book does. I finished it and will call it good.
