This is the most grueling, heartbreaking and beyond beautiful memoir I have ever read. The story of Mark Lanagan's seemingly unending battle with addiction, loss and survival. Highly recommend for those who love the 90's Seattle music scene and are prepared for heart wrenching saga filled with sex, drugs and rock and roll.
Graphic: Addiction, Alcoholism, Body horror, Cursing, Death, Drug abuse, Drug use, Gore, Mental illness, Panic attacks/disorders, Physical abuse, Self harm, Sexual content, Suicidal thoughts, Suicide, Violence, Blood, Vomit, Grief, Medical trauma, Suicide attempt, Alcohol, and Injury/Injury detail

Screaming Trees was a favorite band in the 90s. I didn’t know much about Lanegan back then but when he passed this last week (2/22/2022) it broke my heart: our Seattle music icons are nearly gone.
I ate this book up in a few days - it was in turns intense, heartbreaking, and funny. Lanegan was a broken man and it is terribly sad that he was clean for only a decade before his death.
