"Regardless of the species, regardless of where they had come from and where they had lived, there would always be evidence of living and loving and dying, of people fighting to get ahead and fighting harder still to keep what they had already gained, of neighbors helping neighbors, and parents loving their children."

This was beautifully reflective and hopeful. I loved that Nascosta gave us a look at the historical context of the minotaurs/Minoan people in a language that felt right for its ancient setting! Also Madoc and Gwen are cuties and this just makes me so excited to pick up Milking Farm again ahead of Blue Ribbon's release.

This is a short story that has two storylines. One is about a Minotaur couple set in modern times in Cambric Creek, and the other is a bride tribute's POV from ancient Greece/Crete. The storyline in the past is one that the reader may get triggered by
dubcon and eventual taking of her baby by the humans.
But the woman herself isn't upset with her situation and she likes being with her "husband."

I enjoyed this sweet and spicy look at a different couple in Cambric Creek.
