this book reignited my love for reading! i had a few bad months when it comes to the books i chose to read and this was so refreshing and interesting i truly couldnt put the book down. i loved all the characters and they had so much depth to them. its important to note its not a romance novel and as an aro person that Despises that genre, i was sooo relieved to find out that this book wasnt going in that direction. as a gamer, this book felt real and believable and just really awesome! definitely one of the most enjoyable reads ive had. despite a lot of dark plot points, it continued to be funny and heartwarming. it felt vey human and cathartic. AND THE SHAKESPEARE REFERENCES!!! im always a slut for those.

I don't know how to rate this book. At first, I wasn't in the right frame of mind to read it, but when I finally was, I couldn't put it down. It emotionally slayed me. It got under my skin. I'll probably think about it for a while. I can't tell you definitively if I liked it or not, but I don't regret it.

TW: There is a description of an active shooter scene. If you are someone who has been affected by gun violence, please know this is part of the book.

At first I hated it because the main characters are so incredibly annoying and I didn’t like them. But after a few chapters I started really loving it. They are annoying in the way people are annoying and while I definitely wouldn’t want to be friends with any of them it’s a beautiful story about love that I really enjoyed.

This book sucked me in right away.  It’s my favorite book of 2023.  It has so much to offer.  Trauma, relationships, ways we experience love and loss, social hierarchies, growing up, and some really meaningful real world issues.

As a gamer, and pop-culture lover, it hit all the right spots for me.  None of the main characters are perfect, but you can see how their past traumas have shaped them.

It was a decent book, but I would not say it blew me away. I can't say whether that is because of my high expectations, or because of the book itself though.
