this book reignited my love for reading! i had a few bad months when it comes to the books i chose to read and this was so refreshing and interesting i truly couldnt put the book down. i loved all the characters and they had so much depth to them. its important to note its not a romance novel and as an aro person that Despises that genre, i was sooo relieved to find out that this book wasnt going in that direction. as a gamer, this book felt real and believable and just really awesome! definitely one of the most enjoyable reads ive had. despite a lot of dark plot points, it continued to be funny and heartwarming. it felt vey human and cathartic. AND THE SHAKESPEARE REFERENCES!!! im always a slut for those.

it took me three? four? months to finish this book and it only added to my existential dread. about a quarter into reading this, i already knew i'd be unhappy about the ending – and i was, but in a good way? i really don't know what to think of this book. i definitely recommend reading it, it is definitely an experience.

To many flashbacks and flash forwards to understand the plot. The subplots were never addressed or added anything to the main story. Little character development for side characters.

At first I hated it because the main characters are so incredibly annoying and I didn’t like them. But after a few chapters I started really loving it. They are annoying in the way people are annoying and while I definitely wouldn’t want to be friends with any of them it’s a beautiful story about love that I really enjoyed.

It was a decent book, but I would not say it blew me away. I can't say whether that is because of my high expectations, or because of the book itself though.

There were some things I didn't like of the writing, like the constant time jumping or the excessive details of side characters. Then I read other comments to see where the book was heading and decided to cut my loses.

Overall, I would say that I liked this book. But honestly it was hard to read. Not because I am not in the gaming community but because the characters were so unbearable at times and I wanted to throw my phone across the room in frustration. It felt like a rewatch of love, Rosie if Rosie and alex were truly just best friends and also created video games together. Some moments were beautiful and tragic, others were boring and droning. Would I recommend this book? Yes. But would I reread? Probably not.

I wish I could read this book again for the first time. Absolutely spectacular.
