This was a surprisingly happy read! Most of O'Farrell's books gut me, but this one, while dark around the edges, was sweet and hopeful. It was a nice change! Not totally my favorite by her, but a lovely read nonetheless.

My least favourite of her books for the moment but ok.
Hard to get into the read, too many parallel timelines and characters to start. A little too romanticised ending

This was my 6th Maggie O’Farrell and my least favorite. Don’t let this be the only book of hers that you read!

I'm a big O'Farrell fan but this story was not quite as mesmerising or engaging as some of her later work. That said, I did read it in 2 days so I obviously got lost in the story.
