Although I believe this book was written for a much younger audience, I REALLY enjoyed it. I found the world built for us to be very interesting with the steam punk mechanicals and a dirigible for a school. I loved how our group of girls grew closer, chosing to help one another and become friends when they could have chosen to see each other as competition. There was some blatant racism and sexism in this book but it really felt like it was written very intentionally and very tongue-in-cheek. Like it was intended to sound absolutely ridiculous that people could feel that way. At least, that's how it sounded to me. Which I enjoyed and laughed at. I'm looking forward to seeing what our little gang does next and hoping for some further character development in the second book.

quick and fun middle grade read

This was a fun distraction about a youngest daughter sent off to finishing school only to find out it’s not just that but also a spy and assassin school for young ladies. The main character was fun and made friends while getting into trouble and talking herself out of it, a la applying her school learned skills. Good quick read!

Compelling context; I found plot less engaging.

Cute, but a bit aimless. Also, contrary to the chosen cover art, it reads younger -- more reminiscent of Riordan's Kane Chronicles than of a teen series.
