Elizabeth Haydon truly never fails to stun me. I am so in love with the characters that she's created and this incredible, but dangerous, world they've found themselves in. I could not sing Elizabeth Haydon's praises harder if I TRIED. Please, do yourself a favor if you're reading this and TRY this series.

3.5 Stars.
What I liked about this book I loved. Sadly, what I didn't like about this book...I really didn't like.
I loved the worldbuilding, the in-depth cultures, history, magic systems, unique races, and for the most part the ongoing story and characters. Unfortunately, the romantic relationship in this book really didn't work for me. Which was the main focus of nearly 200 solid pages! Don't get me wrong, I love a little romance, but I don't need to sit with it for chapters on end.

**Spoilers***

I really had trouble buying Rhapsody and Ashe's "true love" story when her chemistry with Achmed was much more compelling. But I'm biased as I'm Team Achmed.

I loved the first book so much I will still continue on.

I liked this book! Not as much as the first one, but enough that I want to keep reading the series! I get that Rhapsody is perfect though, you don't have to tell me anymore. Ever. I got it. =P

Very 'meh' about this book. It is overlong, and rhapsody is still irritating. Achmed and grunther are the main reasons for reading this now, though the world that's been established is also interesting.

Steer clear if you don't want to read a romance book as this is basically what this story is, albeit in a fantasy world. Hoping the third book might get a little more involved in the world over rhapsody's love life.

I'm enjoying watching the story unfold again but good Lord the sex scenes are flowery and ridiculous.

Trigger Warnings: Sex, mild language.

4.75 I absolutely loved this book. The world is so vivid and its history is so just as interesting as its peoples. Rhapsodie's character is so well developed. Her perspectives were clear and consistent throughout the entire story and relatable. She's a loveable character with a huge heart. A few things bugged me like how everyone had a crush on the main character how unbelievably beautiful she was, but the reasons behind it and the way it helped develop the character was worth it. The relationships in this book seemed like they could be real and not all happy go lucky, which was nice although it took up a lot of the plot.
