This is a cute picture book about a magic elevator.

No, not really. It isn't magic. It just manages to hold everyone from 9 other floors in it, while it goes up and up to the 10th floor where the party is.

And what a wonderful group of people that are picked up, people of all sizes, shapes, nationalities, religions and ideologies.

Plus cats and dogs.

A fun picture book to read through and look at everyone involved.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

Going Up is a sweet tale of apartment living and getting to know your neighbors. The community of characters all use the elevator and meet each other via it. Our characters are all diverse and happy to share their fav0rite things with each other to celebrate a birthday. All in all delightful.

Sophie and her dad are invited to a party on the 10th floor of their building. As they head up on the elevator, someone new heading to the party gets on at every floor. This would be a cute readaloud for themes of community or parties.

Going Up! is an adorable picture book about Sophie and all of her apartment building neighbors going up the elevator to the top floor - and Olive's birthday celebration. Vibrant illustrations, funny situations and all around good times are had as everyone squeezes in the elevator.

A party is about to start but luckily all the attendees live in the same building. A diverse, inclusive cast of characters step on the elevator while it heads to the top of the building. Every time the doors slide open it is a surprise. The delicate watercolor and color pencil illustrations create a sense of unity on the pages, especially when matched with a simple setting of an elevator. Children will love building up the anticipation after every page that says "going up." A guessing game of who is coming next would be so fun to play while reading with a group of littles. One day we won't need to point out that a book is inclusive/diverse because it will be the new normal. This book reminds me that day is coming sooner then we know.

I received this ebook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is an adorable book about a girl and her dad going to their neighbor, Olive's, birthday party. As they go up in the elevator, many more people get on the elevator with them. There are so many bright and wonderful colors in this book and the illustrations are on point and attract the reader's eye. Honestly, that many people shouldn't have gotten on the elevator together - they probably maxed out the weight limit - but it is super cute and Olive is not who I expected her to be!

This is an adorable story with SO MUCH REPRESENTATION! This is a multicultural story and also features a character with a disability. Y’all know I love inclusion! Sophie and her Dad are invited to a birthday party in their building. So they bring their signature cookies along and begin to ascend to their destination via the elevator, but each stop on each floor brings more friends squeezing into the small space in anticipation of the celebration. The illustrations are playful and capture the excitement of preparing to celebrate.
